Chambers Packer Studio: the color shoot

Chambers Packer Studio shoot

I had the opportunity to work with Christopher Chambers and Angela Packer again - and, per usual, it was a blast! There is so much talent in the CP Studio that I am constantly amazed. Truly gifted in the fine art of hair. Here are a few images from the shoot - I guess I should really post some from the last shoot sometime too ;)

This shoot was all about one thing .... COLOR!

Reena and Michael: the engagement

Reena and Michael: the engagement

I headed up to Columbus for Reena and Michael's engagement session. I was really looking forward to it - they had some fun locations they wanted to show me! They are such an adorable couple whose personalities I fell for immediately! I always try to capture my couple's relationship at the engagement session and when Reena got the disc with the images she said 'I don't know how you did it, but you captured US - and so quickly!' - makes my heart smile! Onto the images ...

Oh Jeni ... how I love thee! They took me to Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams in the Short North ... I think it is safe to say that I am officially in LOVE with Jeni and her pistachio splendidness :)

I love these next two shots!

Sorry, Michael, I had to post this one ... he turned around and said 'WHOA - that is close!' The look on his face makes me chuckle :) I love the series too ... they are so playful with each other

Reena and Michael's favorite!

Reena and Michael ... I can't wait for the wedding - which is RIGHT around the corner!!! Woo hooo!!!!

Amanda and Nick: the wedding

Amanda and Nick: the wedding

I had been looking forward to Amanda and Nick's wedding ever since our first meeting. Amanda is the wittiest person I have ever met and Nick is just 'cool' - 'nuf said. Their wedding fell on my birthday. Those of you who think that working on your birthday doesn't sound like fun, have obviously never met these two! Or their fabulous families and friends. I couldn't have been happier about spending my day with them :)

I can't even tell you how many images I loved from this wedding, so I tried to post the ones that captured real moments or had great emotion in them. For a lot more, please watch the slideshow at the bottom of the post.

I started out at Amanda's parents house and this is how I was greeted! A cake!?!? If I didn't love them before, I definitely did then!

Amanda getting her makeup on ...
Amanda's mom showing me her wedding album ...

the ultra hip red wedding shoes ...
the dress was amazing ... I loved the horizontal lines - it was so chic!

showing the shoes with the penny taped under them ...
One of the bridesmaids getting a little choked up reading the maid-of-honor's speech ....

I love this shot of Amanda leaving her room that she grew up in with her new name on the back of her hoodie ....

the girls all drank their beer through straws ... so as not to mess up their lipstick, duh!
Lauren making it 'rain' on her sister's wedding day ...

Amanda's dad gets a little help with his shirt ...
this series of Amanda getting the dress on is probably my favorite ... she has the most amazing and contagious laugh ...

Amanda sees herself in the dress for the first time ...

her gift from Nick was a beautiful bracelet ...

then she just said 'Ok ... I have to go see my fiancee!' .... and we headed out!

Meanwhile, Karen was with the guys ... love this shot

Nick got a new 'toy' for his wedding gift ... in the words of Napoleon Dynamite "wanna play me?"

an overall of the guys hanging out ... even Reginald made it in the shot. Reginald Rooster is Amanda and Nick's 'garden gnome'. I told them they should take him on the honeymoon and get pictures taken with him everywhere.

keeping us all on time ...

So, as I mentioned previously, I didn't get to post all of the shots leading up to the first look - because there were just too many ... but I did have to post my favorite of the series ... I LOVE the look on Nick's face as he checks out Amanda's, ahem ... dress?

I told them this was a 'headless' shot ... and then I saw this :) Clearly, I can't be trusted.

they even played a little basketball ...

After a little one-on-one, we headed to the Pavilion.
Did I mention how suave Nick is? Well, if there was any doubt, here is the photo to prove it.
And how to do you say ... HOT HOT HOT? - oh, I think I just did. Amanda rocked it OUT!

the guys hanging out at the bar ...

heading to the church ...

at the church, I saw the two dads hanging out in this gorgeous light ... couldn't pass it up.
the rings being held for the ceremony ...
Nick waiting in the back room for the ceremony to start ...
the girls heading up to the ceremony ...

I love the hug between the two moms after lighting the candles ...

I love the look Amanda gives her mom as she walks down the aisle past her

a quick capture after the ceremony ...
the only photo that Amanda asked for ... and I love it!
the guys all changed into their new kicks for the reception. Nick had his custom made for this day!
the guys sporting their groomsmen gifts ...
Ah ... the blow pop. I think I had about 6 of them that day - love them! They were everywhere too .. we had a huge box of them with us all day :)
Amanda and Nick also got the wedding party these super cool shades to wear to the reception - complete with bling!

there were 4 toasts I think ... I just love the light on this one (the rest are in the slideshow)
Amanda's reaction to one of the toasts was great!

and a little dancing to finish off the night ...

and for those of us who may have partied a little too hard?? a door hanger to remind everyone NOT to bother us!
Amanda and Nick, I don't even know where to begin ... but I'll start with a simple thank you for inviting me into your lives and letting me be such an important part of your big day. Love you guys! Thanks for making my b-day superfun!
Let's do it again!
Again again!!!
I wish you both (and Reggie) a lifetime of happiness!!

Leisa and Christian: the engagement

Leisa and Christian: the engagement

Leisa is an amazing makeup artist whom I have worked with a couple of times. I was so happy for her when she told me that she was engaged and even happier when I met Christian. What a perfect couple. Being that Leisa and Christian both had studied the arts, they said that they were particularly critical of their photography. After chatting with them and going through some of my work, they decided to have me photograph their big day. I am honored. For their engagement session, we headed over to Spring Grove and got some amazing images for them. Onto the photos ...

I love this next shot ...

oh ... and I love this one too :)

we had to include some of their artwork ...

Leisa and Christian, I am really looking forward to the wedding in October!

Jamie and Matt: the wedding

Jamie and Matt: the wedding

Jamie and Matt were a referral from one of my favorite couples, Brittany and Jacob so I think it was safe to say that I knew I would love working with them! One of the bonuses of getting wedding referrals - you get more great couples!!
Here are some of the images from their day ...

Jamie and one of her bridesmaids looking at the seating chart for the reception ...

the gorgeous dress ....

and, of course, her fabulous shoes - can we say 5" heels???

Jamie running upstairs to get something ... love that her shirt has her maiden name on it ... her last day with that name!!!

getting her hair done by the amazing Brittany - who does hair for a lot of her sorority sisters on their wedding day

nails ...

I love the way the flower girl was looking at Jamie while she got her hair done ...

Jamie telling her mom something about the seating chart 'mishap' ...

Jamie did her own makeup ... sometimes if you want something done 'just the way you like it', you have to do it yourself :)
getting ready to put the veil on ...

getting the dress on ...

leaving for the ceremony ...

while the girls were getting ready, Karen was with the guys ... documenting how they spent their morning

Matt playing some darts ...

one of the groomsmen checking the scoreboard ...

a friendly game of cards ...

a little peek ...

wow ... those boys sure are thirsty ;)

when the girls arrived at the site for the ceremony .... Jamie and Matt had their 'first look'. I love the look on Jamie's face when she sees Matt for the first time that day!

and a quick kiss before we did some portraits of the couple ...

Jamie is such a beautiful girl ...

Matt's details ...

the handsome groom ...

they had some umbrellas set out for the guests in case of rain ...

guests arriving ...

here comes the bride ...

I love the way Matt smiled at Jamie during the ceremony ...

right after the kiss ... Jamie wipes the lipstick off of Matt's face - perfect moment!

a few more shots before they are introduced at the reception ...

at the reception ... they had a projector up that read 'Mr. and Mrs. Stockum' - while Jamie was leaning out looking at the guests ... I saw this shot ...

some toasts ...

their first dance ...

Jamie and Matt, I enjoyed every moment of working with both of you. Thank you so much for allowing me to be such a big part of your day! Congratulations and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!
